Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in physical and chemical methods of food analytics and natural curiosity and comfort to handle new technologies/methods develop
  • Supports proper implementation and regular update of the laboratory quality system in accordance with the Nestle Standards (based on ISO17025).
  • Ensure optimal functioning of the laboratory in order to provide the best analytical service.
  • Provide technical leadership; ensure analytical team training and competence to perform the required analysis.
  • Responsible for the preventive maintenance, calibration and correct functioning of laboratory equipment.
  • Lead method development, implement and validation according to Nestlé standards.
  • Responsible for the critical evaluation and results approval
  • Select, organize and follow up analyses performed by subcontracted labs and Nestle Quality Assurance Center
  • Support Product Development and Pilot Plant with analytical knowledge and support factories QA and lab with method implementation and quality/analytical troubleshooting
  • Responsible for the organization and follow-up on results of proficiency tests. Responsible for performing root cause analysis in case of questionable or unsatisfactory results and in applying corrective action.

Education Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in either Chemistry, Food Science or related field
  • 5+ years (depending on degree) in a food industry analytical laboratory

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory systems (LIMS)
  • Experience in successfully implementing quality assurance programs
  • Participating in project teams
  • Leading part of change effort
  • Establishing network of peers in markets or factories
  • Minor or some experience in Microbiology
