  • Analyze and assess food safety risk and apply measures and controls to mitigate risks to an acceptable level
  • Contribute to the design of new products, restaurant layouts, equipment, processes, and procedures with risk assessments, establishing food safety requirements and review and approval processes
  • Provide regulatory guidance and support for retail & promotional merchandise
  • Measure, analyze and report restaurant compliance to food safety systems standards through audit and inspections; directly or by Operations teams
  • Support and maintain operations assessment tools
  • Support improvement, corrective and preventative actions with operations teams
  • Identify and maintain 3rd Party relationships and support providers, inclusive of identification, capability assessment, qualifications, performance measurement and calibration to Dunkin’ Brands standards and requirements
  • Provide technical and subject matter expertise as required
  • Contribute food safety related articles and material to Brand publications as required
  • Provide HELPline support and resolution for restaurant food safety related questions, complaints and incidents
  • Support the Major Incident Team as necessary
  • Provide, review and maintain all food safety content in training materials, videos, courses, knowledge centers and operations reviews
  • Conduct regional educational sessions as required
  • Establish & maintain relationships with local & state health departments

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Biology, Culinary or related field
  • 5 or more years’ experience in retail food safety, regulatory, quality assurance, food safety training or related food industry experience
  • Experience in restaurant operations, equipment and design for food safety
  • QSR experience preferred


  • Nationally Recognized Food Protection Manager Certification (i.e. ServSafe, Prometric, National Registry of Food Safety Professionals)
  • Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) credential preferred (If not already obtained, credential will be required upon hire)
  • Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points, (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices, (GMP’s), Food and Drug Administration, (FDA) Model Food Code, Code of Federal Regulations, (CFR), and general microbiology
